It is with great pride and optimism that I present the Siaya International Trade and Investment Conference (SITICO) Handbook, a comprehensive guide to the transformative investment opportunities that define Siaya County’s vision for sustainable growth and prosperity.
Siaya County stands at the cusp of an economic renaissance, strategically positioned along the Northern Trade Corridor with access to the vast markets of the East African Community (EAC), the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), and the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Our fertile lands, abundant natural resources, and vibrant communities provide a solid foundation for investment in agriculture, agro-processing, renewable energy, tourism, healthcare, and industrialization. Through SITICO, we aim to showcase these opportunities, fostering partnerships that will drive inclusive economic growth, create jobs, and enhance the livelihoods of our people.
This handbook outlines a series of bankable projects, from the revitalization of rice and cotton value chains to the establishment of a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant and an eco-city at Lake Kanyaboli. Each initiative is carefully designed to align with my administration’s 9-Point Agenda, Kenya’s Vision 2030, the African Union’s Agenda 2063, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These projects reflect our commitment to grassroots industrialization, food security, sustainable energy, and equitable development, ensuring that Siaya County contributes meaningfully to national and continental aspirations.
As a county, we are dedicated to creating a business-friendly environment through investor incentives, streamlined regulations, and robust infrastructure development, such as the Siaya County Aggregation and Industrial Park (CAIP) and the modernization of water schemes. Our partnerships with the private sector, National Government, and regional stakeholders underscore our resolve to transform Siaya into a hub of innovation and opportunity.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders local communities, investors, development partners, and the SITICO organizing team—for their dedication to this historic event. Together, we are building a Siaya County that not only meets the needs of its people but also serves as a beacon of sustainable progress for Kenya and beyond.
